Once again, the GRV Transparency Tour was fully booked, with all available headsets in action, showcasing the continued high demand for sustainability insights.
During the tour, we gained valuable knowledge from various exhibitors:
Symaptex shared their expertise on recyclable membranes made from polyester and polyetherester, which are free from PFAS. This competence now gives them a significant advantage as the European ban on PFAS and new legislation on recyclability loom on the horizon, putting pressure on companies to find long-term solutions.
Climate impact financing was explored through myclimate, offering a way for brands to take responsibility for their own emissions. By paying for others to reduce emissions or absorb CO2, companies ensure immediate and effective climate protection. This approach enables organizations to invest in climate protection projects that offset their calculated unavoidable CO2 emissions, thus mitigating their environmental impact.
VAUDE showcased their commitment to circularity and waste prevention in outdoor gear through their RE:DESIGNED concept. By guiding the textile industry in transitioning to a circular economy, VAUDE is driving positive change. Their RETHINK strategy, characterized by extensive research and design efforts, has successfully resulted in a 50% reduction in CO2 emissions.
Suston Magazine, founded in 2017, aims to inspire, guide, and push the outdoor community towards positive change. With both print and online editions, the magazine reaches out to the international sustainability community, emphasizing solutions to the pressing environmental challenges our planet faces. Gabriel Arthur, the Editor-in-Chief, highlighted their focus on providing actionable insights and promoting a more sustainable future.
These highlights from Tuesday’s events underscore the continued dedication of industry leaders and innovators in driving sustainability and pushing for positive change within the outdoor sector.
