With 30 partners, 4 panels, and 6 guided GRV Transparency Tours, accommodating up to 60 attentive listeners per tour, the enthusiasm surrounding the SUSTAINABILITY HUB has reached unprecedented heights.
Both the general public and exhibitors attended with a shared objective in mind: understanding how to achieve success. The recently released IPCC report highlights the alarming pace of climate change, projecting that the point of 1,5°C global warming will be reached in the next few decades, meaning that a 4° Celsius increase by the century’s end is probable if no action is taken. Biodiversity loss is also occurring at an alarming rate. It is clear that if we continue with business as usual, the risks and consequences associated with climate change are making our future uncertain. Given the imperative to reduce emissions by 50% by 2030, even though they are currently still rising, action must be taken. And it must be taken now.
By exchanging best practices, sharing experiences, and aligning with EU legislation, significant strides are being made towards the common objective of coordinated action. This year’s exhibition placed significant emphasis on the forthcoming legislation associated with the EU Green Deal, aiming to expedite the much-needed transformative change.
Engaging in open and sincere conversations about the challenges faced on the journey to achieving net-zero emissions and addressing hazardous substances like PFAS, the event attracted an overwhelming attendance, leaving no seat unoccupied.
